Edwards had some trash talk for Murray after series

Minnesota Timberwolves guard Anthony Edwards on Sunday sounded like he had all the confidence in the world after his team won Game 7 of their second-round series over the Denver Nuggets at Ball Arena in Denver.

The Timberwolves overcame a 20-point deficit to advance to the Western Conference Finals for the first time in 20 years.

Edwards on Sunday didn’t have his best postseason performance on the court. But his trash talk game was locked in throughout the contest and even after the final buzzer sounded.

Edwards had an exchange with a couple of Timberwolves supporters as he exited the venue. The two-time All-Star muttered something that probably won’t sit well with Nuggets guard Jamal Murray.

Murray didn’t exactly have a bad game. The Nuggets star finished with a game-high 35 points on a 13-of-27 clip from the field. Murray’s scoring output more than doubled Edwards’ 16 points on 6-of-24 shooting. But the most important stat was the Timberwolves’ 98-90 winning margin.

Edwards also delivered a spicy message to TNT analyst Charles Barkley, who didn’t sound all that excited about paying Minneapolis a visit once “Inside the NBA” heads to Minnesota.
