Rick Barnes and the Tennessee Vols have done a fantastic job of improving UT's roster this offseason via the NCAA transfer portal.
And they're not done yet.
The Vols have already made key transfer additions in Ohio State transfer center Felix Okpara, Hofstra forward Darlinstone Dubar, and Charlotte transfer forward Igor Milicic.
Tennessee is also hoping to land North Florida transfer guard Chaz Lanier, who is from Nashville.
Lanier has a COVID year of eligibility remaining after averaging 19.7 points, 4.8 rebounds, and 1.8 assists per game as a senior this past season.
The Ensworth standout is also considering the NBA draft, though the expectation is that he'll return to college this fall.
Tennessee has been considered the favorite for Lanier, but other teams are also reportedly involved with the coveted transfer guard.
CBS Sports' Jon Rothstein reported on Thursday that Kentucky, along with several other programs, is showing interest in Lanier.

According to 247Sports , it's not Kentucky that's Tennessee's biggest competition in this transfer battle. Instead, it's the Maryland Terrapins.
"Lanier is from Tennessee and is thought to like how he would fit with the Volunteers," noted 247Sports' Eric Bossi this week. "While the Vols are thought to be the team to beat, we would still want to keep a very close eye on Maryland as well. Some strong sources have indicated that the Terps aren't to be taken lightly here."
"Kentucky has been mentioned some as another that could draw interest but we aren't sure they are on the same level and at this point we'd give the edge to Tennessee with Maryland right there applying pressure," added Bossi.
The deadline for players to withdraw their name from the NBA draft is May 29, which means this transfer battle could continue for a few weeks.
For now, though, it sounds like Lanier's most likely landing spot is in Knoxville.
